An update on pitching Sounds Like Impact
Making things easier (I hope!) on me and you. Also, advertising is live!
TLDR: Switching up the pitch process. There are now two forms:
And you can now place ads in Sounds Like Impact.
I have gotten my sh*t together…sort of. Can you believe I have been writing this newsletter for over two months now!? Neither can I, but I have learned some things.
First, I want to say thank you to everyone who pitched in April and May. Because of your submissions, I was able to ideate an editorial calendar, pretty much through the summer.
Going forward I want to be more strategic with my calls for pitches, in large part because I am one person managing all of this (even if I speak in the plural when I write), and I want to be able to feature more shows as soon as possible rather than waiting until my current editorial calendar finishes.
I want to be transparent and admit that I won’t be able to reply to everyone going forward (and I still owe some May submitters a reply this week!). Simply, if your pitch is selected, you will be contacted.
Ok, so what’s new?
I am introducing two new forms to help me manage my content review and development process. I will now accept episode pitches for upcoming themes through this Airtable form. There will be at least two months of themes available to choose from. You can continue to check to see if a theme comes up that your show might be right for. If you have a question about an upcoming theme, please email soundslikeimpact@unofficialsocialchair.com.
None of the themes relate to the social impact curation you had in mind? No problem, you can now more easily request to guest curate via this Google form similar to OG guest curation newsletter EarBuds.
Not interested in pitching your show for my editorial themes or making a curation on your own? Advertising for your show is now a possibility! Learn more here. 💵
And of course, I love to do interviews, so you can request an interview (via the same Google form for curations). I can’t guarantee that a guest curation or interview request will be accepted (there are only so many newsletters a month…for now) and it is possible that not all requests will be a fit and that’s okay because Tink Media has a database of amazing newsletter options!
Again, if a guest curation or interview is not a possibility (likely having to do with bandwidth on my end), then advertising may be an option, assuming content fit.
In whatever scenario, I appreciate your support and hope we can find a way to support one another.
Thank you! This is so thorough!
