Announcing Empact Exchange!
A new initiative from Sounds Like Impact where purpose meets podcast production.
Welcome to Sounds Like Impact!
This isn’t a typical newsletter for Sounds Like Impact. Those newsletters will resume in June. Today, we announce the launch of a new platform called Empact Exchange. Read more below!
Quick Update:
I am a judge for the 5th Annual Anthem Awards! This will be my third year judging, and I look forward to checking out all the creative and global social impact campaigns. If you have a podcast or relevant campaign you’d like to submit, don’t delay! The deadline for early entry is June 6th. Read more about the awards here.

🤝 Empact Exchange
Where purpose meets podcast production.
Empact Exchange is a new community space and submission hub for people creating mission-driven audio. We believe that powerful stories can create real change, but too often, meaningful audio projects struggle to get off the ground due to a lack of resources, collaborators, or visibility.
That’s where Empact Exchange comes in.
Whether you’re looking for help on a socially driven audio project, offering your skills to support someone else’s work, or open to a mutually beneficial exchange, this is a *global* space to connect.
Who Is This For?
Independent audio producers and creatives working on projects that explore or uplift social issues
While the form is in English at this stage, you can post non-English language projects. All languages welcome!
Producers, editors, engineers, strategists, and others who want to contribute their skills to meaningful work
Mission-driven media folks looking to collaborate, barter, or network with like-minded peers
Anyone committed to making audio with care, empathy, and impact
Who Is This NOT For?
Projects or individuals not centered around social impact
Those unwilling to collaborate in good faith or respect the time and contributions of others
Anyone looking to extract labor or services without offering something in return (money, barter, mentorship, etc.)
People uncomfortable with publicly sharing aspects of their work-in-progress
Submit Your Project or Service
Have a project that could use support? Or a skillset you'd like to offer? Use this form to get started. Just keep the following in mind:
Guidelines & Use Policy
Beta Phase: We’re in testing mode through August. Your feedback during this period will help shape future versions of the platform. As we are in beta, you can only submit one project or profile right now.
Free to Submit: There’s no cost to be listed. We may create reports based on submissions, and if we ever want to use non-anonymized info, we’ll ask for permission first.
Good Faith Only: We expect participants to act ethically and respectfully. Anyone found causing harm—through submitted content or behavior—will be removed.
Project Submissions: Currently, profile and project listings are only made available to individuals who submit to the database. This is to protect user privacy. However, please note there is some risk in sharing unprotected work. Protect your IP as needed before submitting.
Services Offered/Requested “Vetting”: We check that entries are complete and focused on social impact, but we don’t verify quality or reliability. You are responsible for doing your own due diligence before partnering with anyone and setting up clear agreements/contracts before working together.
If you have questions, please email empactexchange@unofficialsocialchair.com.
Please allow up to 3 business days for your submission to post. Once your submission is vetted for completion and alignment, you will receive a link to the database where you can view other submissions.

Thank yous! Caila Litman and
for being wonderful thought partners as I ideated on this platform! , Talib Jasir from , and for testing out the form and providing additional feedback. I am so grateful for this wonderful community, and I look forward to receiving more feedback from the community as we pilot the first three months!**To be clear, the platform will continue to exist after the beta phase, but pending feedback from the wider community, the format and/or strategy may be altered.
Empact Exchange is free to use, but we could use your support to improve and scale. Right now, the platform is running on a basic version of Airtable that places limits on the automation and views that can be leveraged. If you want to help cover the costs, please consider becoming a paid subscriber of Sounds Like Impact, making a one-time donation, or placing an ad in the newsletter. Thank you!
Excellent!
