As I mentioned last week, this week is an “off-week” for the newsletter. I still have some recs though, but above all

🙏 I need your help.

I launched this newsletter three months ago, and it’s a learning process. But I must stress, the future of this newsletter depends on you. How we grow together is 99% (gotta leave a degree of uncertainty) based on the feedback I receive.

Additionally, I want to make something you look forward to and something that is beneficial to you, podcasters, and society. So please, can you spare 5 minutes (probably less) to fill out this ANONYMOUS survey?

Pretty please? (short survey)

The core of the survey is 10 questions for any subscriber and mostly you’ll select from lists, 5/10 ?s are optional). Then you hit submit! Or

The rest of the survey is opt-in only.

+ 4 additional demographic questions (all optional)

+ 8 questions specific to podcasters (5/8 optional)

The survey closes July 31st and I will send out a reminder via Google Form 1-week before.

🎁 After you help, my “gifts” to you

Seriously, I appreciate you so much! Even if you say you will do the survey later and forget
Don’t worry, I still got you.

  • Some words of advice: Let’s Talk About Money from

    Freelance Cafe
, written by my current colleague Mia Lobel (wait, did I share what we are working on?!). If you are currently freelancing in the podcast space, there are some especially valuable gems in there. But, you don’t have to work in podcasting to benefit.

  • Add to your queue: Abortion Wars: Podcast Recommendations from EarBuds Podcast Collective newsletter, and curated by T. J. Raphael (she/hers), host/producer of Cover Up: The Pill Plot

“Back in the ‘90s, a ragtag group plotted an international drug smuggling scheme and set up a secretive lab to cook up tablets. But they weren’t trafficking narcotics—they were fighting to bring the abortion pill to America. The new season of Cover Up—The Pill Plot—will take you inside the epic struggle facing activists who battled presidents, the Supreme Court, militant anti-abortionists, would-be assassins, and murders.”

  • Read, then listen: This interview from Tink Media with Jonathan Menjivar, host of new podcast Classy. (Article was originally in

    Podcast The Newsletter
    )

“Classy is a collection of surprising stories, juicy and uncomfortable interviews, and engaging segments that explore the ways that class infiltrates our day-to-day lives. In the host seat is Jonathan Menjivar – a working-class Latino kid who joined the media elite and became someone who likes oysters, wears cashmere socks, and is very conflicted about all of it.”

  • And “to honor” the 4th

Podcasters Making An Impact

Coming Up: Next week I’ll be sharing a curation about the impact of climate change on natural disasters and an interview with Chris Colbert & Adell Coleman from DCP Entertainment News about their podcast Say Their Name.
